India reported 7,533 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total to 4.49 crore, while active cases dropped to 53,852, as per the Union Health Ministry on Friday.
The death toll has risen to 5,31,468 with 44 new deaths, including 16 fatalities reported by Kerala, according to the ministry’s 8 am update.
Active cases now make up 0.12% of total infections, the ministry stated.
The national recovery rate stands at 98.69%, based on data from the ministry’s website, with 4,43,47,024 people having recovered from the disease. The case fatality rate is 1.18%.
India has confirmed a total of 4.49 crore Covid cases to date.
As per the ministry’s website, a total of 220.66 crore doses of the Covid vaccine have been administered in the country as part of the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination campaign.
