India reported 5,357 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of active cases to 32,814, based on the latest data from the Union Health Ministry on Sunday.
The death toll has reached 5,30,965, with 11 new deaths reported. Three deaths were from Gujarat, two from Himachal Pradesh, and one each from Bihar, Maharashtra, Odisha, and Uttar Pradesh, in addition to one reconciliation by Kerala, according to the 8 am update.
The total Covid case tally stands at 4.47 crore (4,47,56,616), with active cases accounting for 0.07 percent of total infections and a national recovery rate of 98.74 percent, as per the ministry.
The number of recovered cases has risen to 4,41,92,837, while the case fatality rate stands at 1.19 percent.
The country has administered 220.66 crore doses of Covid vaccine so far, as per the ministry’s website, under the nationwide vaccination drive.
