Central Strengthening Security Measures in Parliament Complex: Urgent Action Needed

1 min read

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla announced on Saturday that he has established a high-powered committee to examine security measures in the Parliament complex and create a plan to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Birla, in a letter to Lok Sabha members, mentioned that the findings of the high-level inquiry committee, set up by the Union home ministry, will be soon shared with the House.

“I have also formed a High Powered Committee to evaluate security measures in the Parliament Complex and develop a solid action plan to prevent future incidents,” Birla stated in the letter.

On the afternoon of December 13, individuals released yellow smoke canisters in the House, prompting MPs present during the Zero Hour to take action.

Furthermore, two additional individuals, one of whom was a woman, were apprehended for staging a protest outside the Parliament complex.
