Strong Condemnation and Deep Condolences: India Reacts to Peshawar Terror Attack

India strongly denounced the terrorist attack in Peshawar, Pakistan, which resulted in the death of 93 people and left over 200 others wounded. The External Affairs Ministry spokesperson, Arindam Bagchi, expressed India’s heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. Bagchi tweeted, “India extends its deepest sympathies to the families affected by the tragic terror attack in Peshawar yesterday. We unequivocally condemn this heinous act that claimed the lives of many.” The attack, carried out by a suicide bomber, occurred in a crowded mosque during afternoon prayers. The outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility for the attack, which took place within the high-security Police Lines area. Security officials reported that the suicide bomber detonated himself while in the front row during the afternoon prayers, resulting in the death of Sahibzada Noor Ul Amin, the mosque’s Imam. Local police confirmed that 93 people lost their lives, and 221 others sustained injuries in the devastating attack.
