Central India Reports 104 New Covid-19 Cases and 78 Recoveries, Active Tally Drops to 2,149

India recorded 104 new cases of Covid-19 and 78 recoveries in the 24-hour period ending at 8 am on Sunday, according to the Union Health Ministry. The number of active cases in the country decreased to 2,149.

Active cases represent 0.01% of total infections, while the national recovery rate has risen to 98.80%, as per the data.

As per the ministry’s website, India has a total of 4.46 crore (446,810,040) confirmed Covid cases and a death toll of 530,726.

In the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination campaign, 23,490 doses of the vaccine were given on Saturday, with a total of 220.17 crore doses administered in the country so far.

India’s Covid-19 tally reached 20 lakh on August 7, 2020, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5, and 50 lakh on September 16. The country crossed the one-crore mark on December 19 and four crore on January 25 last year.
