Central India Reports 9,111 New Covid Cases with 27 Deaths, Positivity Rate at 8.40%

India reported 9,111 new cases of Covid-19, marking a slight decrease from the previous week when over 10,000 cases were recorded. Additionally, there were 27 deaths in the past 24 hours, according to data from the Union Health Ministry on Monday.

Among the reported deaths, six were from Gujarat, four from Uttar Pradesh, and three each from Rajasthan and Maharashtra. One death each was reported from Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, with three deaths in Kerala as per the 8 am update.

The daily positivity rate was 8.40% and the weekly positivity rate stood at 4.94%.

The number of active cases has risen to 60,313, with the total death toll reaching 531,141. The overall Covid-19 case count is now at 4.47 crore (448,27,226).

Active cases currently make up 0.13% of total infections, with a national recovery rate of 98.68%. The number of recovered cases is 4,42,35,772, and the case fatality rate is 1.19%.

A total of 220.66 crore doses of the Covid vaccine have been administered in the country as part of the vaccination campaign.
