India Weather News Highlights, October 4, 2022: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted light showers in Mumbai and its suburbs over the next 48 hours. The temperature is expected to range between 25 and 33 degrees Celsius with 90% relative humidity.

Despite the rain, many people gathered at the elaborate Durga Puja pandals on Monday in West Bengal. The IMD predicts heavy rains in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal today, with continued heavy rain expected in all districts of north Bengal, including Darjeeling and Kalimpong, until Wednesday morning.

3,271 corporation workers, including 2,317 contract workers and 954 full-time employees, have been deployed by the civic body to combat mosquitoes. Various equipment, such as larvicide sprayers, power sprayers, battery-operated sprayers, and hand-operated fumigators, have been set up for this purpose.

IMD Pune officials stated that mostly clear skies will prevail with maximum temperatures around 31 degrees Celsius. There is a possibility of light rain or thundershowers in the city and suburbs over the next 48 hours.

According to the IMD, scattered to fairly widespread light or moderate showers with isolated heavy rain are expected in Gangetic West Bengal on October 2 and 3, and heavy rains are likely in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal on October 4. Additionally, light rainfall with isolated thunderstorms is possible in the region for the next three days.

Kolkata, Bankura, Bardhaman, Birbhum, Howrah, Hooghly, Murshidabad, Nadia, North 24 Parganas, Paschim Medinipur, Purba Medinipur, Purulia, South 24 Parganas, and Uttar Dinajpur districts of West Bengal are among the areas where rain is forecasted in the next three days.
