Three Rafale fighter jets from the Indian Air Force are scheduled to participate in the Bastille Day flypast over the Champs Elysees in Paris on July 14, as confirmed by sources on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister will be the guest of honor at this year’s Bastille Day Parade.

In addition to their French counterparts, a tri-services contingent from India will also partake in the parade.

India acquired 36 Rafale jets from France through an inter-governmental agreement.

The Rafale jets mark India’s first major fighter plane acquisition in 23 years, following the import of Sukhoi jets from Russia.

Capable of carrying a variety of powerful weapons, the Rafale jets are a significant addition to India’s air arsenal.

Last August, a French Air and Space Force contingent, including three Rafale jets, made a crucial stop at the IAF’s Sulur base in Tamil Nadu as part of a large military operation in the Pacific Ocean.

The Ministry of External Affairs recently announced that Modi will attend the Bastille Day Parade as the guest of honor.

The Prime Minister’s visit is expected to strengthen the India-France strategic partnership by establishing new and ambitious goals for cooperation across various sectors, including strategic, cultural, scientific, academic, and economic industries.
