India saw a slight decrease in new Covid cases with 699 reported on Wednesday morning, as per the latest data from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. This is down from the 918 new cases reported on Monday.
The updated data at 8 am showed two new deaths in Kerala and Odisha, bringing the total death toll to 5,30,808.
The daily positivity rate is 0.71% and the weekly positivity rate is 0.91%. The total number of Covid cases is 4.46 crore (4,46,96,984).
Active cases now make up only 0.01% of all infections, with a national recovery rate of 98.80%.
A total of 92.04 crore tests have been conducted, including 97,866 in the last 24 hours. 4,41,59,617 individuals have recovered, with a case fatality rate of 1.19%.
Nationwide, 220.65 crore doses of the Covid vaccine have been administered according to the ministry’s website.
